Adams Peak Country Estate Wedding

Claire & Charlie

Just a couple of country kids who, following the stories of countless generations of country romances, met at Cargo Bar.

Charlie dropped a few pearlers about playing for his local footy team, thinking it might impress the clearly athletic Claire, not knowing she excels at literally every sport under the sun and could probably beat him in a game of footy with one arm tied behind her back and one leg buried in the ground (I think it was said at one point Clare won back to back premierships - as in one on the Saturday at one sport and one on the Sunday in another, but I digress).

Theirs both is and isn’t a traditional love story.

The way’s it isn’t.

They (aforementionedly) met a long way from home for the both of them. They had both of each sets of parents walk them to the top of the aisle, and then they walked each other the rest of the way which alone speaks volumes about both them and their relationship. Intentional. Progressive.

The ways it is.

They fell early and they fell hard. They were still practically kids in many ways when they met, at a time when cram sessions and college hazing was still a thing. It’s clear the intervening years of support and entanglement and the ups and downs of life have caused them to have had a huge mutual impact on one another. These are, most say, some of the most formative years of your life - they came through a period when most are forming their own sense of identity as individuals as well as their sense of identity as a couple. That takes strength and perseverance and intention and, dare I say, shining examples of the ability to make such a relationship work in each of their sets of parents. Yes, you have to get lucky in some ways to meet the love of your life so young, but that is just the first step of many.

And so, after a dozen or so years, it led to this.

Enjoy
