Port Elliot - adelaide wedding 

This was one for the books.

Andy recounts the story he first laid eyes on Olivia walking towards him as having an internal “Oh shit, don’t screw this up” moment. Clearly, he didn’t.

Whilst they live in Sydney, Olivia is an SA girl and spent many teen summers in the pristine Port Elliot just outside of Adelaide and so they decided to get married there.

They wanted it to all be very relaxed and so got ready with everyone at the same house, and shared a beautiful unheralded moment when Olivia saw Andy all suited up while she was getting her hair done.

There are so many parts of this day and little narratives I want to draw attention to, from the beautiful - how overwhelmed with emotion Olivia was at multiple times throughout the day; when she saw Andy for the first time, reaching the end of the aisle, her dads speech - to the absurd - one of their best mate’s young son sweeping the house all morning, the flower children relentlessly throwing petals at both Olivia and Andy for a solid 5 minutes while everyone was congratulating them - but I think this time I will let the images tell the rest of the story.

One small aside - we ducked out quickly during the reception to go catch a glorious sunset down by the beach and rarely have seen two people so giddy with excitement, each of them was practically vibrating with an unrestrained joy of being at the reality of their life together. It was beautiful to witness.

Always, but particularly on this day was I reminded why I’m so freaking grateful for this career.
