sarah and jack
audley dance hall wedding
Jack spoke repeatedly about how when he and Sarah first met he couldn’t tell if she was sincerely the single kindest person he had ever met or the biggest smart ass of all time. Sarah spoke about being instantly attracted to Jack because of the loving, lauding way he spoke about his family. Then they made out in a pantry.
Just before this all happened one of Jack’s grandmas who he was quite close to had passed away. He was clearly still processing. Maybe that lent fire to his emotions being so close to the surface the day they met, to why he was so keen to speak of his family with such admiration, one of the biggest things Sarah was immediately drawn to. Maybe that raw emotion helped draw out Sarah’s innate kindness and put it on full and blinding display to someone who was particularly attuned to and in need of empathy on that day. On the day of their wedding they spoke of being forged in grief in some ways. I’m not by any means saying that without all these things coming to pass they would never have coalesced - from watching the way they interacted all day it was clear these are two people who are simply so right for each other their pairing seemed to have a sense of inevitability about it, and this is but a tiny sliver of their story - but it is nonetheless poetic to think of the end of one beautiful thing contributing to the start of another.
And what a hell of a thing that is.
After all the chaos of this year and umpteen plan changes due to life and weather and everything else, these two all around legends got married on a 39 degree day with 50 of their closest, followed by a long lunch (…and a bit of an after party) and they wouldn’t have changed a single thing.
Keep an eye out for Jack working himself into a state just before Sarah walks toward him for the first time that day and for the way they look at each other all day - but particularly during the speeches.
Enjoy
