berry nsw wedding
sarah & guy

Some weddings have a great love story at the heart of it all. Some strike me as a celebration that is just as much about family and community as it is the two people at it’s centre. Some are feats of organisation and style and effort and taste.
This one had it all.
Family obviously means, well, everything, to both Sarah and Guy - they clearly both come from incredibly close knit families. They met in Melbourne (a town they still love) but moved back to Sydney to be closer to their folks and and siblings and nieces and nephews and all of the rest. Both sets of parents have been together forever and a day and are sincerely inspiring in their own ways (and I told them as much as I left - Guy’s parents have been together for 37 years and look as happy and moon eyes as ever, Sarah’s parents bought and built the property the wedding was hosted on for the express purpose of having it as a family home to retreat to and connect and host the expanding clan over the next however many decades). If the model of love we are exposed to growing up is the what we seek and play out ourselves, these two are in for decades of growth and joy. Will it always be easy? Not necessarily. Will it be worth it? Unquestionably.
So, here’s to family. To entering ceremonies on beefed up golf buggies. To Lebanese drums and dancing under the stars. To community. To Guy’s face when he saw Sarah for the first time on this day. To dads and daughters and mothers and sons and the other way round for both too.
To Sarah and Guy, and the life they are continuing to build together, and the people they are building it with.
Enjoy
Dane
