This was one of the more outrageously styled weddings Iโ€™ve been a part of lately (he makes guitars and plays music, sheโ€™s an artist with her own creative business - so it was always going to be beautiful), but it also had more than its requisite amount of heart.

Milly and Vin met quite young - which they still are - when exam marks and formals and awkward teenage parties where still a thing, and now have the start of two creative careers, a small group of people who love them dearly and the beginnings of a life together. People grow and mature into who they are a lot between 18 and your late twenties, and they've done it all side by side, influencing and guiding and supporting one another along the way.

I was struck by a lot of things this day - by the maturity, wisdom and conviction of the two people in the middle of it all, by the redemptive power of love, by the importance of family - especially the ones we make for ourselves.

A few moments to look out for;

  • Vin playing Milly a song after his speech and bringing the house down

  • Lots of emotive embraces after Milly was dressed..

  • ..and immediately after the ceremony

  • Lots of sweet moments between Milly and her dad interspersed throughout the day

  • A smokey exit
